We've been together for a year; I can't believe it's been since then. We started out just good friends, But couldn't deny the truth within. We made mistakes along the way, And together we made it through. You constantly tell me I'm the best, But it wouldn't be true without you. I know at times I can be a pain, And on occasion forget our dreams; But I want you always to know, I will follow wherever you go. My soulmate for eternity To whom my whole heart belongs. A friend to no other compares-- Forever my one true love! I wrote this one day at work six months after we got married, but a year after we started dating.

Alittle piece of heaven sent from up above-- Sweet, kind and gentle as an angel full of love. Warm kisses, sof and tender hugs you freely give To all the people you come in contact with. Great joy and peace your shining smiles bestow In our hearts and all you meet no matter where you go. We love you more than all the world--we hope you always know. Excitement we experience as we watch you learn and grow. Intelligence, humor, beauty--all qualities you possess; Spiritual strength starting to show will continue to progress. Grand kindness is displayed in those sparkling, caring eyes, Which gives us comfort and assurance when we hear your cries. We will love you always throughout all your life. We hope you'll ever remember in sweetest times and strife. I wrote this one for Mya last year for Valentine's Day.

--Here is a poem I wrote last year for Toby for Valentine's Day. You may not always know-- 'Cause I don't always show, You mean the world to me! I know you will be there To help with every care. You bring a smile to my face-- No matter the time or place; You know just what to do, When I am feeling blue. Your gentle warm embrace Transcends all time and space; You help me to strive for more, And pick me up off the floor. I count on you so very much-- You calm my soul with just a touch. Since the day I said, "I love you," My heart forever belonged to you. My companion for eternity, Please, believe you mean the world to me.

Okay, so I know I said I would put up some of my old poetry up, but right at the moment my book that all my poems are in is in our storage shed in a box. And, I'm not exactly sure which one. So, I finally found this poem that I started to write about 2 months ago. It is not finished yet, but here is what I have so far. My sweet little man with a contagious grin You fill my heart with the love of a mother Big brownie eyes --joy-filled and innocent One peeking dimple appears in contentment Such great excitement and energy barely contained Emotions expressed with your body complete Typically active, lively and interested Yet, uniquely mild-mannered curiosity Let me know what you think.

I decided to start up this blog as a way for me to share one of my passions: writing poetry. I do not profess to be a poet or even any good, but it is something I enjoy. At first I will be posting older poetry that I have written. If I can recall and think it is necessary, I will share the circumstances surrounding when the poem was written. Feel free to comment on any of my writings if you so desire. Many of my "works" are unfinished, so if it seems that way, it probably is. I hope you all enjoy it!
